ROZZERS NOT
QUITE `ONNETT`
A huge injury list meant that ROB TONA had to reshuffle his pack for
the trip to Onnett. But the Rozzers reacted by turning in one of
their best performances of the season, even though the result went
against them.
The Rosaneri knocked the ball around briskly and dominated possession
for the opening 25 minutes and the pressure finally paid off when
KEVIN MULLY fired home from eight yards.
However Onnett got themselves back into the game five minutes later
with a spectacular 20 yard drive.
A slack ten minute period at the start of the second half saw the
Rosaneri find themselves 3-1 down. This however proved to be a minor
hitch as the Rozzers powered back to dominate the rest of the game.
The Rozzers second goal came 15 minutes from the end when SHERIDAN
LEIGH played a clever one-two off JIM DOWNING before bursting into
the box and feeding NICK SHEWRING for a formality of a tap in.
Sustained pressure in the Onnett half came to no avail as the
minutes eventually ran out, leaving the Rozzers feeling disappointed
but proud in the way they had performed with so many names missing.
